amon robe´s actual name is tobias r. koehler and he was born in the year 76 in upper austria, a small town called gmunden. moved to vienna, home to gmunden and back again. now he´s residencing in a small town called linz. it is famous for it´s ars electronica center and for it´s highways and the smog.
studying timebased and interactive media amon´s focused on interactive, realtime an documentary media. his project designanstalt or designasylum like he calls it was only for qualification at the university of art and design in Linz but meant at lot of fun for him as he was able to do something without borders or regulations.
“i´m not a programmer i´m a sampler. i´m not a designer i´m only trying. i can´t cope with rules and borders, free like a bird that´s what i´m trying to be and so far i´m getting along well with that attitude.”
